Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

PerfectOpponent is a scheduling marketplace that helps youth hockey team managers find opponents and book games. This policy explains what we collect from coaches/managers, how we use it, and who we share it with. Questions: support@perfectopponent.com.

2. Who uses PerfectOpponent

Built for and directed to adult team managers and coaches. Accounts are created and used by adults on behalf of a team. Not intended for children; we do not ask players to create accounts or enter personal info.

3. What we collect

• Account info (sign-in email; passwordless magic link, no password stored).
• Team profile (team/club name, age level, tier, division, home rink incl. address + coordinates, scheduling preferences).
• Manager contact info (name, email, phone; email defaults to sign-in email).
• Scheduling data (ice slots, availability windows, proposals, matches, games).
• Team rating data (public team-strength ratings from a third-party provider).
• Notification/device data (preferences, push tokens if enabled).
• Technical/usage data (log + usage activity).

4. How we use your information

Create/manage your account and team; find and rank opponents and open ice; run the negotiation flow (propose/accept/confirm); send notifications about proposals, matches, updates; provide support, maintain security, improve the service.

5. How we share your information

• With a confirmed opponent: when you and another team confirm a game together, we reveal your team's contact details (name, email, phone) to that manager so you can coordinate, and show you theirs. Contact details are NOT shown to teams merely browsing, viewing you as a candidate, or with an unconfirmed proposal.
• With service providers (hosting/database, address/map lookup, ratings source, email/SMS delivery) who process data on our behalf only as needed.
• For legal and safety reasons.
• Business transfers (merger/acquisition/asset sale).

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Your choices

Edit/update your team profile and contact info anytime in Settings. Delete: request account/data deletion at support@perfectopponent.com. Notifications: adjust preferences in the app.

7. Data retention

We keep your information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymize it, except where retention is needed for legal obligations or disputes.

8. Children's privacy

The service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact support@perfectopponent.com and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including passwordless authentication and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update it from time to time; we'll revise the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after a change means you accept the update.
